ALOHA!!

Doug and I went to Kauai with my brother and sister in law. Seven days was definately not long enough for our first trip - so I'll recommend 10-12 days for any other first timers!
We definately saw the island and it's true that it is the most tropical - it is incredibly beautiful!
There are amazing waterfalls....
Beautiful beaches......
Look close, there are whales out there.....we saw several from the lighthouse...
Spent a wonderful evening at the luau with 2 more of my siblings and their spouses...
visited an old hawaiian village and learned about alot of customs....
listened to a LOT of roosters from sun up to sun down......
they call it a swinging bridge but it stayed pretty still IF you were on it alone!.....
discovered a very pretty stretch of uninhabited beach while on a bike ride along the coast....
the Hawaiian Grand Canyon was indescribably beautiful, rugged, picturesque, and on and on, the picture does not come close to doing it justice...
beautiful botanical gardens...
and sunrises and sunsets you didn't want to miss!
We were so fortunate to have had such a wonderful visit the week before the Japan earthquake. This island is the least modernized, which being more traditional was a really neat experience. We also realize how blessed we are to live in such favorable conditions here!
We love you all!!

Jane's hip

Hi all,

I am pretty sure that everyone knows that Jane had hip replacement surgery. She sounds like she is doing very well, but I bet she would love to hear from everyone. She will be off from work for a few more weeks, so send her a note if you get a chance.
Zach and his friends learned how to snowboard this winter. His friend Peyton decided that skiing was way more fun, but the boys stuck to snowboarding.
Hope to hear from everyone!
Love, Kate
